Karena Wu is owner and Clinical Director of ActiveCare Physical Therapy. She is a native of Los Angeles, California and has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California at Riverside. She has been practicing Physical Therapy for 15 years in New York City after she graduated from the Program In Physical Therapy at Columbia University. She has advanced training in manual therapies, specifically in Maitland Joint Mobilization and Myofascial Release. Karena is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Kinesiology Tape Practitioner and Pilates Instructor. She is also certified as a LSVT BIG Practitioner.
Karena is a dedicated practitioner who takes a holistic approach to her practice. She actively networks with a team of physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists. Her patient population consists of professional athletes, dancers, celebrity chefs, TV media stars, high end business professionals, and NYPD/FDNY.
Karena is used as a healthcare expert on CBS, NY1, Fox News and Dr. Oz. She is the Director of Education for SpiderTech Kinesiology Tape and is on the Medical Board of the Association of Volleyball Professionals.
Ruchi Thakkar earned her Bachelor of Physical Therapy from Mumbai, India. She is currently pursuing her Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of the Incarnate Word, Texas.
Ruchi is licensed with New York State and is an American Physical Therapy Association member. She has taken workshops in sports taping, TheraBand exercise, and Pilates. Ruchi is a SpiderTech Certified Practitioner, with training in taping techniques that aid in pain relief, edema control and neuromuscular activation.
Monique Dupree is a New Jersey native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.
Monique is licensed in New York and New Jersey and is a SpiderTech Certified Practitioner, with training in taping techniques that aid in pain relief, edema control and neuromuscular activation. She is looking forward to taking courses to further develop her manual skills in the areas of sports taping and peripheral joint and spinal mobilizations.
